In January of this year DAPPLED CITIES were commissioned by Sydney Festival to perform a selection of work from across their four studio albums in a Baroque style. The sold-out show played in Sydney Town Hall and included members of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra; it also marked the start of a year long celebration of DAPPLED CITIES 10th anniversary.
Now, the party continues with the announcement of twin club shows in Sydney and Melbourne, where the band will revisit their vast catalogue in a tight, sweaty, up-close-and-personal setting – befitting of one of Australia’s most highly regarded and hard working rock bands. Collarbones and Donny Benet will join DAPPLED CITIES for both nights.
Dave Rennick from the band says “Preparing for the Sydney Festival show allowed us to revisit a decade’s worth of work, and we were all excited about how well the earlier songs actually held their own. Because the baroque arrangements were only really suited to a handful of our songs, we wanted to take some of the tracks we’d been rediscovering and play them in a proper rock club – where there is nowhere to hide. I guess as a gift to our hard-core fans.”
Fans will soon be able to request songs for the band to perform via DAPPLED CITIES Facebook page, and there is also a hint from inside the camp of some brand new music being premiered at the shows as well. Never a band to stand still, DAPPLED CITIES have been in the studio working on album number five already.
For folks who are used to seeing DAPPLED CITIES on the bigger stage, these gigs will allow a serious exchange of energy between the band and their closest fans, a reminder of the powerful forces that have held this ground-breaking band together for more than a decade. Rejoice.

PEZ returns to Australian stages for his first headline tour in more than 3 years. To highlight the important influence PEZ has had on the Australian hip-hop scene, you need only to look at the two supports from that 2009 tour – a little known rapper named 360 and an upcoming MC named Seth Sentry. The Back In The Game Tour will roll through 21 dates nation-wide and provides PEZ with the chance to unveil tracks from his long awaited sophomore album – including current single ‘The Game’.
PEZ is a unique voice in Australian music – his records are grounded with a hip-hop ethic & infused with sweet melodies, but it is his more honest, soulful and direct lyrical approach that has allowed PEZ to build a deep relationship & understanding with his loyal fan base. And that relationship is the thing PEZ is most looking forward to reigniting on this tour “I’m excited to get back out amongst the fans and see how they respond to some of these new jams – both in a big festival settings and also the more intimate shows.”
The video for current single, ‘The Game’, was directed by Grey Ghost, and recently named Channel [V] Ripe Clip Of The Week. This artistic collaboration is indicative of the approach PEZ has taken with the new album as the songs came together collaborating with an array of old friends and new names. Due for release later this year, the album, like this tour, promises to be something unique and very special. Fans can expect a highly evolved album full of banging beats, raw lyrics and the trademark PEZ flow.
PEZ has invited South Australian rapper, and current Triple J favourite, Purpose to join him on the road, adding spice to an already killer night, and continuing a history of PEZ throwing down and supporting the future of Australian hip-hop. But most importantly the Back In The Game Tour celebrates the re-emergence of PEZ as an important voice across all genres of Australian music. You will not want to miss this.

HUB Artist Services are proud to announce that ground-breaking Australian hip-hop artist PEZ will join their management roster, effective immediately.
PEZ exploded onto the Australian music scene in the summer of 2008/09 with his smash single ‘Festival Song’. That track was remarkable for so many reasons – not only did the single reach the top of the AIR singles chart, but it landed at #7on Triple J’s Hottest 100 poll a mere 2 months after it’s release. PEZalso invited a little known MC named 360 to feature on the track, kick-starting a collaborative relationship that continues to this day. His debut album ‘A Mind Of My Own’ went on to win the “Best Independent Hip Hop / Urban Album” at the AIR Awards, and with the world at his feet, PEZ seemingly disappeared as quickly as he had arrived……..
In 2013 PEZ returns with his highly anticipated sophomore album through EMI / Universal, and has already revealed a new, exciting sound via his preview single ‘The Game’. The video for ‘The Game ‘premiered this week exclusively on Channel [V] – http://www.vmusic.com.au/pages/main-menu/news/features/pez-video-premiere-the-game
Owner / Managing Director of Hub Troy Barrott released the following statement regarding the latest signing to the Hub Management roster: “Today is a hugely exciting day for us as we join forces with PEZ to bring his new album to the world. We have absolute respect for PEZ and and consider him to be one of the most pivotal artist’s responsible for the emergence of Australian hip-hop over the past decade. But beyond that, especially having heard songs for the new album, we believe PEZ will become one of the most important voices in Australian music across all genres.
As ‘The Game’ continues to set the scene for the record to follow, PEZ is preparing to embark on the Groovin The Moo festival dates, and will soon announce his first headline tour in 2 years.
PEZ comments “This album has been a long time coming, so I can’t wait to get back out there! I had to do this on my own the first time around, and so to finally have a team around me who I believe in, and who believe in me, makes me so excited for the year ahead”.
‘The Game’ is out now through I-tunes.

HUB The Label and Inertia are proud to announce the signing of Sydney, via Lismore, four-piece Zeahorse, as the band prepare the finishing touches to their debut long-player, ‘Pools’ – out mid-2013. Zeahorse will celebrate the new deal by supporting The Mark Of Cain on their only Sydney show on March 23 at the Metro Theatre.

Formed in Lismore, Zeahorse have attracted a cult-like following over the past four years through their consistently electrifying live performances; equal parts psych, punk and grunge.
The Zeahorse experience delivers a punctuated aggression that ebbs and flows seamlessly through the thick mud of solitary confinement to the galaxial kaleidoscopes of smoking a joint and staring at the sun. If one were to impose a strict taxonomy on the band, Fugazi, Slint, The Jesus Lizard & Elecrtic Wizard would all be present as variables. However such an approach fails to adequately explain their unique dynamic.
A brutal & brilliant live band, their relationship with Hub was consummated after a typically killer set at a warehouse party this summer. “Zeahorse will blow your mind” says Troy Barrott, owner and Managing Director of Hub.
ACCLAIM FOR ZEAHORSE
“From the word go, Zeahorse will knock you out… sounds like dark sex in closeted rooms, but there’s still plenty of room to breathe.” The brag
“I haven’t come across a band that expel energy like this…” Dom Alessio, Triple J
“Zeahorse should come with a warning along the lines of, ‘Danger: do not perform after us.” Fasterlouder
“dangerous guitar driven mayhem” Page Digital
“Zeahorse packed more energy than a nuclear bomb.”The Au Review
Hub Artist Services have launched into the Melbourne market in a move that will not only give the independent management and label group a southern state presence, but will also expand their business into the live music arena.
Frankie Kimpton, previously of Premier Artists, will run the satellite office and concentrate on overseeing the touring activity for Hub clients, as well as operate a stand-alone boutique agency service. Adopting a similar strategy to their record label, the agency will function independently in the marketplace and non-exclusively to Hub’s existing clients. The current agency roster includes highly regarded artists such as Royal Blood, Kate Martin, Glass Towers, Buchanan and Universal recording artist Neda.
Hub owner and MD Troy Barrott said, “It’s important for any contemporary Australian music company to have a presence in both Sydney & Melbourne, and we’re thrilled to have someone as highly regarded as Frankie to represent our artists in Melbourne. For me, Frankie’s roster and approach represents the future, and mirrors our philosophy of uncovering and nurturing world-class Australian talent across our existing Management and Label businesses. Hub Touring will become a very important piece of the puzzle for us.”
Frankie elaborates, “I’m very excited to have joined forces with the amazing team at Hub and to be involved in their growing presence in the Australian music industry. Furthermore, to be launching the Hub Touring arm with people who have such a passionate commitment to music, and everything involved in creating it, is something I’m really proud of. It’s another branch in Hub’s inspired approach to providing super cool opportunities for artists and their careers.”
This latest development to the Hub ecosystem is the first in a number of exciting announcements for this year. The team at Hub Artist Services – which includes a Label partnership with Inertia, and an independent Management company – are preparing for their most exciting year yet with new albums expected from Megan Washington and Glass Towers (among others) and Dappled Cities celebrating their 10th Anniversary.
