It has been some time since Dappled Cities convened for a series of Australian dates, and in order to satisfy both a curious public and road-test their forthcoming album, Dappled Cities announced today two very special headline shows in Melbourne, November 17th at PHOENIX PUBLIC HOUSE and Sydney, December 2nd at THE STANDARD.

The headline shows are a perfect compliment to the upcoming Harvest Festival dates, which have the band playing alongside Portishead, Flaming Lips and The National. Earlier this month TV On The Radio invited Dappled Cities to join their sideshows, and the band felt it a perfect opportunity to work up a set-list of almost exclusively new music to showcase in preparation for the album release in early 2012.

Dappled Cities’ previous album ‘Zounds’ (2009) – was a critically acclaim release and the band spent a good part of 2 years touring the album throughout the US and UK. It was during that period living in London that the seeds of a new album were sown and the band commenced work on the new material in March this year. The recording sessions traversed Los Angeles, San Francisco, Paris and Sydney with the likes of Dan The Automator and US-based Jarrad Kritzstein collaborating at various stages with the band.

Dappled Cities will play the material from their upcoming album in a series of shows across November / December with their intimate headline shows serving as a sneak preview for what the world can expect in 2012.

TOUR DATES

13 November HARVEST FESTIVAL – Parramatta Park, Sydney
